*I, ah, realized, I, I, I, ah, a, forgot "Night Train," by James Brown.
There's a song called "Washington" by a bad band called The Crucifucks.
There are some legitimate musicians such as Grover Washington & Dinah Washington.
There are of course many songs about Washington but do bot have Washington in the title. My five favorite are:
Vote for Me - Chicago
Harry Truman - Chicago
Monster - Steppenwolf
Politician - Cream
By jack bruce and pete brown Hey now baby, get into my big black car. Hey now baby, get into my big black car. I want to just show you what my politics are. I’m a political man and I practice what I preach. I’m a political man and I practice what I preach. So don’t deny me baby, not while you’re in my reach. I support the left, though I’m leaning, leaning to the right. I support the left, though I’m leaning to the right. But I’m just not there when it’s coming to a fight. Hey now baby, get into my big black car. Hey now baby, get into my big black car.
Rockin in the Free World - Neil Young

Leave us not forget Danny O'Keefe's beautiful "So Long Harry Truman" and of course Joe Jackson's "Right and Wrong".

We live for just these twenty years do we have to die for the fifty more?
This would not count (Bowie's " Young Americans.") in a Top Five Songs with Washington in the title. Are there songs with Washington in title, besides, "Washington Bullets," by the Clash ?

William Zanzinger, who at twenty-four years
Owns a tobacco farm of six hundred acres
With rich wealthy parents who provide and protect him
And high office relations in the politics of Maryland,
Reacted to his deed with a shrug of his shoulders
And swear words and sneering, and his tongue it was snarling,
In a matter of minutes on bail was out walking.
But you who philosophize disgrace and criticize all fears,
Take the rag away from your face.
Now ain't the time for your tears...(words and music; Bob Dylan)

LONDON - British Airways resumed hundreds of flights Saturday at one of the world’s busiest airports, while pleading for continued patience from thousands of passengers stranded by a ground-crew walkout.
The strike was triggered by a dispute between catering staff and the U.S.-owned firm Gate Gourmet, which provides onboard meals for British Airways.
The union representing the catering company’s workers said 800 staff were fired Wednesday after an unofficial walkout. The company said 667 workers had been dismissed.
BA baggage handlers and loaders represented by the same union — the Transport and General Workers’ Union — stopped work in sympathy with their colleagues.
As talks continued, flights operating Saturday had only limited catering, and passengers were being given food parcels to take onboard and food vouchers to buy snacks before boarding.

MINNEAPOLIS - Northwest Airlines jets roared into the sky over the heads of striking mechanics Saturday as the nation's fourth-largest carrier turned over its maintenance to replacement workers on Day 1 of the industry's first major walkout in seven years.
Saturday afternoon, Northwest was already facing at least one maintenance job: A jet landing in Detroit blew out four tires on the runway. No injuries were reported, and the airline said the cause was likely "an anti-skid braking issue" that had nothing to do with the strike.
Northwest's union mechanics walked out rather than take pay cuts and layoffs that would reduce their ranks almost by half. They don't believe replacement workers will be able to maintain the fleet, the oldest among domestic airlines.
Earlier Saturday, Northwest Vice President of Operations Andy Roberts apologized to travelers inconvenienced by what he described as a union slowdown Friday. He said the backlog of minor maintenance issues would be cleared up during the weekend.
"We certainly don't expect delays to increase," Roberts said. "As we work through these maintenance writeups, the operation should continue to improve."

Trafficking in Politics: It's Bumper-to-Bumper
By Rachel Manteuffel

Nearly 10 months after it supposedly ended, the bellicose 2004 election campaign rages on, in the streets. Bumper and window stickers on cars beseech you, even now, to vote for George W. Bush or John Kerry.
People on both sides aren't scratching off their stickers or covering them with new issues or slogans. And laziness doesn't seem to explain it; our bumpers are simply stuck in a moot debate.
"Nothing like it before, and I've been doing this 12 years," says Roi Wright, manager of Mr. Wash car wash on 13th Street NW, who sees plenty of cars that are still in campaign mode. "I don't know why. I think it's like a subliminal message, because we all wanted him to win."
Which "him"? Doesn't seem to matter. We wanted him to win, or him. And he did, or didn't. That's done. We're still arguing, though, through the bumpers that time forgot. They're either in a state of heartsick denial or prolonged flaunting.
Nobody living can ever stop me, As I go walking that freedom highway; Nobody living can ever make me turn back This land was made for you and me. Woody Guthrie
