Let Jimi Take Over...

I was going to write some yesterday but suffice it to say that a brutal day ended with the 6:21 out of Penn not getting home until about 8:15, so I really wasn't in the mood. However, there is at least one more - the Righteous Brothers' Rock & Roll Heaven:" Jimmy (sic) gave us rainbows". Also a quote from Neil Young referring to all the other guitarists in the world regarding Jimi: "We're not even in the same building".
Fly on our sweet angel,,,
Donny

Yesterday marked the 36th anniversary of Hendrix' death.

Songs with Hendrix references:

1-Hank to Hendrix-Neil Young

2-Monterey-Eric Burdon

Jimi Hendrix, baby Believe me Set the world on fire, yeah!

3-Six Strings Down-Jimmie Vaughan

See the voodoo chile, holding out his hand
I've been waitin on you brother, Welcome to the band.

23rd Qualm, courtesy of DH

The 23rd Qualm (supposedly written by a retired Methodist minister) Bush is my shepherd; I dwell in want. He maketh logs to be cut down in national forests. He leadeth trucks into the still wilderness. He restoreth my fears. He leadeth me in the paths of international disgrace For his ego's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of pollution and war, I will find no exit, for thou art in office. Thy tax cuts for the rich and thy media control, They discomfort me. Thou preparest an agenda of deceptionIn the presence of thy religion. Thou anointest my head with foreign oil. My health insurance runneth out. Surely megalomania and false patriotism Shall follow me all the days of thy term. And my jobless child shall dwell in my basement forever.

Blues for Labor Day

Why, would you just look at this Stanley, lyrics without song titles and Donny's numbers two and five are from Lori:
Ira,
Couldn't get No. 2 on my own. My No. 1: I heard this song over 25 Years ago and could never find out the title although I knew it was done by one of the Akron bands of the late '70's. Ironically, I finally found out the Title last week! If you can't figure it out, let me know.
1. Never Mind What's On Your Mind, Keep Your Mind On Your Work, Work!
2. Make Good Money, Five Dollars A Day, 'Made Anymore 'Might Move Away.
3, St. Peter Don't Call Me 'Cause I Can't Go, I Owe My Soul To The Company Store.
4. Keep On Working, Keep On Working.
5. No, They Never Taught Us What Was Real, Iron And Coke And Chromium Steel
Donny
1.
In The Heat Of The Day Down In Mobile Alabama
Working on the railroad with the steel driving hammer
Gotta make some money to buy some brand new shoes
Tryin' to find somebody to take away these blues

2.
I got a job in a steel mill, shucking steel like a slave.
3.
Running to and fro, hard working at the mill,
Working in the filling station, too many checks,
4.
All the summer, worked all this fall.
Had to take Christmas in my overalls.
She's gone, but I don't worry:
5.
Working 'round the clock
I want me a drink of water
You won't let me stop
